I facilitated an online session for a national summer youth programme last week, getting them thinking about creative ways to describe their individual experiences. We started with some examples of words from other languages that we don't have in English and from there were looking at what new words we might need to make up for ourselves.
An example I can think of from my own life dates from the point when when I became an adult and yet my parents continued to call me their child. What's the word for your fully grown independent offspring?
